Anna Montgomery - Voice

Background

 Education:

Western Michigan University: Vocal Jazz Studies

B.A. Psychology, Music minor
Goshen College, Goshen Indiana

 Teaching:

Anna has been a professional singer/songwriter and teacher for 15 years. Coming from a musical family (father, Gary Montgomery, was a hit pop/rock songwriter and mother, Kay Montgomery, a college voice professor, opera coach and starring cast member of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom of the Opera), her education happened primarily at home. Although she lacks a formal degree (an act of rebellion from her musical lineage), she has had years of mentorship under various teachers including Pete Cosey (of Aretha Franklin and Miles Davis), Plantinum songwriter Harriet Schock, Platinum songwriters and producer, Buzz Clifford and Daniel Moore, and of course, her parents. She continues her training with courses at AFTRA in ear training and music theory. Anna is new to Iced Pita but has taught in Thousand Oaks for 3 years.

  Performance:

Anna has self produced five albums and is the recipient of many awards including the Los Angeles Music Award for Best Adult Contemporary Artist and the Los Angeles Women In Music Comet Award. She has toured nationally as a band member and opening act for Grammy winner, Shelby Lynne and has appeared on Late Night with David Letterman, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and the Ellen Show. She has had two #1 hit songs in Europe and is a sought after session singer in Los Angeles.
